Testimonials - Teru from Japan

I was studying in the ELA last year. It was so fantastic and exciting experience of my lifetime. I remember that before I came to San Diego, I was really nervous because I was scared of missing my family and friends, living in unknown world alone, and studying under new environment. In addition, my biggest anxiety was whether or not I could make new friends.

However, my anxiety was blown off soon after opening the door of the ELA since the ELA gave me a warm welcome. I could make a lot of friends who are from diverse nations. Due to the small size of classes in the ELA, I could build close and very good relationship with the friends. Also, the ELA gave me various discoveries, such as other cultures, American life style and beautiful nature of San Diego. Sometimes, teachers organized a breakfast and a lunch party, and introduced typical American dishes. Last fall in 2008, we were excited about the presidential election, together. We enjoyed traditional American festivals such as Halloween. The ELA was a new family for me. Even after my graduation from the ELA, I keep in touch with my friends in the ELA. Unfortunately, some of the friends have already gone back to their home. It means, however, that I have a lot of place to go all over the world. I look forward to seeing my friends, again.

I am still staying in San Diego and study. I love San Diego so much. In San Diego, people are friendly, weather is perfect and beaches are beautiful! If you are thinking of studying English, I recommend the ELA with assurance. I hope that many students can have great experience in the ELA as I did, and enjoy San Diego!
